People used to call this size of pack a 3-Day pack, but that's some kind of bad joke. (1) They aren't big enough to sustain for 3 days with enough food/water. (2) Even if you managed to load it down with enough stuff, these packs usually lack any hard frame so they don't carry the weight well at all, so you are just miserable with an overloaded pack.
Still, some people want a little more capacity than the 20L Mil-Tec packs. Just don't think you're going to load this with 40lbs of gear and have a good day. The 36L pack is still a decent option for a dad or husband who needs to carry a bit more extra gear in a bug out bag for other people.
